Office of Work
Office of Work is a semi-fictional research office, established to investigate ideas around labour, work, practice and professionalism.
Office of Work (OOW) uses the aesthetic tropes of a traditional office to draw attention to the absurdity of the bureaucratic processes that shape professionalised and institutionlised definitions of an artist and practice. OOW also investigates the emerging possibilities and shared challenges that come from sustaining and maintaining a creative practice within precarity.
The first iteration of Office of Work took place in the Sample Triskel Project Space, Triskel Arts Centre, Cork City from March - May 2026. During this time, artists, arts workers and creative practitioners could schedule an appointment to with Case Officer Kim Crowley. During this appointment, the visitor was guided through a number of activities. Towards the end of the appointment, each visitor was given three forms, A, B and C to fill out under the supervision of the Case Officer. These forms were validated and recorded. The results of the data gathered will be published in Office of Works Annual Report.
